Gun Show Report Birchrun Michigan
Unreal.....I've been going to gun shows for 20 years.....an amazing size crowd today.....
There must have been 2000 vehicles....I had to walk 1/4 mile to get in....could hardly walk through the place. Glock mags are now $35 and the 33 rounders are now $80.....every seller - and these are big guys - said they cannot get their hands on hi-capacity mags for the glocks. I bought $500 in Glock 17 and 19 mags.....I figure that you should get what you can when you can.....bet they go to $50 for a standard hi-cap mag soon.... I called a dealer that I've bought from for years.....he brought me a Kel-Tec Sub 2000 folding carbine in 9mm Glock Mag......I've been waiting 5 months to get one.....he just got it this week....I've been calling him every few weeks while waiting.... good price at $370 new in box!!!! Verry little ammo....crap loads of black rifles....this dealer had 100 AR-15....mostly Colts.....$1100 - $2000. Lots of AR's around. Good supply of high capacity pistols.....ZERO PRIMERS, ZERO 380ACP ammo. Just amazing to see the crowds today.....not all the sheep are sleeping.....we are well armed here in MI. |

Re: Gun Show Report Birchrun Michigan
Also went to the Indianapolis gun show today. Absolutely HUGE, same scenario. Only they were selling 33rd glock mags for 40 bucks a piece.
I ended up getting an EOTech 511, Forward Grip, and a bore laser site for the AR. My brother was looking for an AK, but couldn't find one in the price range he could afford. 400-500, most were going for 600-700 for cheapo's For actual Russian AK's prices were comparable to an AR 1,100 - 2,000 Saw a full-auto AK for get this $15,000.00. I laughed and pointed to it and said, anywhere else in the world that same gun would run you $500.00 max. Guy behind the desk laughed and said "I know, isn't it great to be "free?" sarcastically. |

Re: Gun Show Report Birchrun Michigan
Went to a gun show today myself in Pasadena... Every show I go to there are more and more people than the last. It was the largest crowd I have ever seen there by far. Good deals are hard to find. Not much in the way of ammo. Although, I did find a guy selling a bunch of Winchester Ranger Penetrator 62 GR 5.56 M855 (Green Tip, Steel Core) I picked up a few hundred rounds of that.

As long as we are on the subject, went to Dunham's in Saginaw yesteray, very low inventory unless you want a Mauser or other WWI rifle. ammo very dry.

Note that they DO have a limit of 100 mags per order on some Glock mags. If you want more than 100, I guess you'd need to do multiple orders. See: http://www.cdnninvestments.com/glock.html |
Re: Gun Show Report Birchrun Michigan
A smart firearm buyer never goes into the show
when will you children ever learn. all the best deals are outside people waiting to get in to trade their firearms. (they see your cash they about beg you to buy from them for nothing) always and I mean always bring a pocket full of cash, do all your dealing outside. been to about 8 over the last couple years and only went into one and that's because I was picking something up I ordered. |

My only concern with doing this is if someone might try to rip you off by selling you say a lemon of a firearm. I guess though with enough knowledge about the firearm you are looking at you can inspect it well enough for this not to be an issue. |
Re: Gun Show Report Birchrun Michigan
At the gun show in Lafayette Indiana a month or so ago I met a guy carrying a "same as new" H&K 91, and I mean same as new.
Wanted $2100 and I passed at the moment. After thinking about it several minutes I reconsidered but I could never find the guy again. I'm still kicking myself, anyone want to help? |

Re: Gun Show Report Birchrun Michigan
I've got a crap load of guns....I love guns and shooting.....so, pretty much whatever I want, I buy....
I think the Kel-Tec Sub 2000 fits a special situation.....gives you a very effective, 4.5Lb carbine that puts lead on man targets out to 100 - 150 yards....and can sue the exact same mags as your fighting pistol.....and best of all....folds up and fits in a book bag....or laptop case.... Nobody would know you are humping around a "rifle" and pistol an hundreds of loaded mags.....this might be important in the future...... Not my #1 choice for a fighting rifle....but under the limitations of not wanting to stick out in the crowd.....these is no substitute for the Sub 2000. |
